SUMMARY
The purpose of this survey is to further understand a range of experiences that are unusual but not uncommon within the population. We are particularly interested in peoples’ experiences of anomalous interactions with objects (psychometry). Participants will be invited to answer a series of questions about anomalous experiences with objects, other exceptional experiences, synesthetic experiences, and prior experiences of ASMR
You are being asked to take part in a research study, your participation is voluntary.
The research is about anomalous interactions with objects.
If you agree to be in the study, you will be asked to Sign a consent form and answer a series of questions about your personality and experiences.
The benefits to you for your participation in this research study is that you will learn more about your personality and experiences.
A copy of this form will be given to you for your records
Please read this entire form and ask questions before deciding if you want to take part in this research study. Your participation is voluntary and you may stop at any time or you may choose not to [e.g., answer survey question(s), continue with the interview, be audio recorded, etc.]
PURPOSE OF THE STUDY
The general purpose of this study is to learn more about anomalous interactions with objects and how personality factors, including ASMR and synesthetic experiences relate to them.
PROCEDURES
You are being invited to take part in a research study on personality and experiences. If you choose to take part, you would be one of 40 participants. If you choose to continue, you will be asked to sign a consent form and then to take part in an online survey. At the end of the survey you will be invited to sign up to take part in future research on the same topic. The survey should take no more than 15 minutes to complete.
RISKS & BENEFITS
There are no anticipated risks from taking part in this study. The participants of this study will benefit society by developing further our understanding of exceptional experiences.
CONFIDENTIALITY
We will take every precaution to protect your data. Your data will not be associated with your name, but we will ask for an email address if you choose to take part in future studies. All data will be stored through Qualtrics on a password protected computer.
COMPENSATION
You will not receive anything for taking part in this study.
WITHDRAWAL
Your participation is voluntary, refusal to participate will involve no penalty or loss of benefits to which you are otherwise entitled, and you may discontinue participation at any time without penalty or loss of benefits to which you are otherwise entitled.

If you feel that you have been harmed by your participation in this study, please contact the researchers listed above or the ORSP office.
FUTURE RESEARCH
All identifiable information will be removed from the data collected and may be used for future research studies or distributed to another investigator for future research studies. Once your identifying information has been removed, we will no longer be able to identify your data to obtain additional informed consent from you or remove your information from the data set.
STATEMENT OF CONSENT
I have had the opportunity to read and consider the information in this form. I have asked any questions necessary to make a decision about my participation. I understand that I can ask additional questions throughout my participation.
I understand that by signing below, I volunteer to participate in this research. I understand that I am not waiving any legal rights. I have been provided with a copy of this consent form and I am at least 18 years old.
